CZ Aims to Make America the “Global Crypto Capital” — Binance Plans U.S. Expansion

With a renewed focus on U.S. markets and post-pardon momentum, founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) pledges to help revive crypto business in America, spotlighting regulatory clarity and institutional adoption.

At a press event during Binance Blockchain Week, CZ emphasized that the United States — long a key market — is now poised to become the “capital of crypto.” He said that following his pardon by U.S. leadership, Binance plans to reengage with American investors and projects.

CZ acknowledged that in recent years Binance had intentionally pulled back from the U.S. after regulatory pressures — but now views the U.S. as a critical hub for future growth, especially given its technological talent pool and evolving regulatory environment.

Regulatory Reset: What the Pardon Means for Binance

The shift follows a major turning point: CZ’s pardon by U.S. authorities, which effectively unlocked legal barriers that had restricted his business involvement since a prior guilty plea for compliance failures.

With that hurdle cleared, CZ says Binance can now operate more “freely” globally — including resuming serious business efforts in America.

He also pointed to recent regulatory moves such as the GENIUS Act (stablecoin regulation) and growing clarity around digital-asset laws as signs that the U.S. may finally offer a stable environment for crypto firms to thrive.

Strategic Vision: Rebuilding Presence, Expanding Access

CZ indicated that while Binance US — the U.S. arm of Binance launched in 2019 — still exists, it is currently “very small.”

Looking ahead, Binance wants to bring back larger global players not technically based in the U.S. to reestablish operations stateside. This includes helping institutional investors gain exposure to its native ecosystem — most notably the BNB ecosystem.

Overall, the plan involves a mix of compliance, investment support for blockchain startups, and rebuilding connections with U.S. banks, regulators, and institutional capital
